Happy New Year everyone. Last night we stood on the roof and watched fireworks along the Delaware River. The displays were nearly constant from the Ben Franklin Bridge all the way around the city to what looked like Chester. It was a beautiful way to welcome in 2017. Full of joy, celebration and optimistic anticipation of a good year to come. My hope is that that we as the people of this great nation and of the world can come together, put aside the anger, distrust and mean-spirited behavior of 2016, and build up our strong foundations of freedom, equity and justice for all. Together we can do great things.
I thank god for my family and friends. I pray that we all enjoy a peaceful, respectful and sustainable 2017.
