Why do you drink bottled water?
- Cleaner than tap?
- Healthier than tap?
- Guess what!?! More than half of the bottled water sold today comes from MUNICIPAL WATER SYSTEMS!
Chances are good that the water you are drinking is just as good as the water that comes out of your tap…with a little filtering maybe. That should make you a little outraged. You know what should make you more outraged? That bottled water can cost you more than 440 times more than the water coming from your tap!
Solution? Buy a reusable bottle with or without a filter and fill it up at home, at a restaurant, at a public fountain. Save money, save plastic, save landfill space and save money.
If you need incentive to wean yourself from buying plastic encased water take the George Washington University pledge:
I pledge to:
Choose tap water or filtered tap water over bottled water whenever possible.
Carry and fill a reusable bottle with tap water or filtered tap water.
Talk to my friends and family about reducing their bottled water use.
Print it, Sign it and then Stick it in your wallet so next time you are in the convenience store reaching for money to pay for more water, you remember that pledge and consciously decide not to purchase.
